1

Does MAKS TIPM comes with the fuses and relays?

Yes it does.

2

What if I cannot find the TIPM I need?

If you don’t see the TIPM that matched your vehicle, contact us and we will try to help. We carry most of the more common TIPM’s for vehicles such as Dodge trucks, including Dodge RAM 1500 or Ram 2500/3500. In Chrysler the more common vehicles are the 2010 – 2012 Town and country, and the 2008 – 2010 Caravan. Most Jeep’s have TIPM issues, including the Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, and Liberty. In relation to VW its mostly just the 2011-2012 VW Routan

3

I only have my VIN. Can I use it to purchase TIPM?

Unfortunately, We don’t have a way to tell by VIN which TIPM do you need. Please note your VIN may give all possible TIPM options for your vehicle’s year. You must still confirm the actual correct part number. You may find the correct Part # on your original tipm, call a dealer, or contact us for help.

See this Link on how to find the correct part number on your TIPM.

4

If I purchase a TIPM from you, is there a warranty?

If you purchase a TIPM from us, it will come with a one year warranty from us. Some vehicles can have the option of a new TIPM, such as the 2011 JEEP Grand Cherokee TIPM, 2008-10 CHRYSLER Town & Coun-try TIPM, 2007 Dodge Nitro TIPM, 2008-09 Dodge Nitro / Jeep Liberty TIPM, or the 2009 Dodge Journey TIPM, these are still covered under the manufacturer warranty, but should still be replaced through us. Extended Warranty up to 3 years is optional and can be purchased on checkout.

5

Is the TIPM built better than the factory version?

First, the TIPM is tested on our tabletop Chrysler vehicle simulator, invented at MAKS, allowing us to isolate faults in the circuitry and electronic components for every year, make, model, and electrical option. Next, the TIPM is completely disassembled. Every fuse is replaced. Every internal relay is also replaced.

6

If I sent in a TIPM to be rebuilt, How long would it take?

Repair Service is about 1.5 weeks to 2 from once you mail it until you receive it again. We can ship a rebuilt unit 2-3 business days after ordering.

Please be sure to leave in all of your external fuses & relays when sending in your TIPM. Missing fuses & relays have to be replaced by us and may result in additional fees.

7

I don't know whether to order a New/Rebuilt TIPM or send in mine for repair.

The biggest differences are that a rebuilt unit would ship within a day or so and the repair process is longer. On a repair, we will only replace what is currently testing poorly and of course a rebuilt unit will have more newer components.

8

Does the replacement TIPM need to be programmed / flashed?

Most of our TIPMS are plug and play but you do have the option to Purchase the Vehicle Configuration ($75.00 service fee). Using your unique VIN, this service will configure your TIPM to all the current settings of your vehicle – pulled straight from the manufacturer’s database. This configuration service allows the unit to be fully plug and play once received.

9

Can you test my TIPM to see if I need a new one?

Under our repair service, you can place an order for that and send it in. We test all repairs first. If we test and find there’s nothing wrong with your TIPM, we will send it back and refund your cost minus $110 diagnostic fee.

10

Is there a Core Charge?

There is no Core Charge / Core Fee. We have a core buy back. We will buy your unit.

11

How much do you pay for an old TIPM core?

The core rebate value varies depending on the part type or number. Contact us at support@tipmrebuilders.com for information on the value of your old TIPM.

Alternatively, you can find the core rebate value on the product page of the required TIPM:core rebate

12

Do we send the core back with the fuses and relays in it?

You can or you can keep them. Take what you need but send it the most complete that you can. Make sure to put the word ”Core” on the outside of the box and send it in.

13

Are the FCM's rebuilt? Are they tested for being fully functional and 100% working condition?

The FCMs are used parts but are tested before sending.

14

Do I need to send the Lid or the FCM (Front Control Module) with the TIPM for repair?

No, you do not have to. If you are sending your IPM for repair, that is all we need.

15

Is a 'REBUILT TIPM' one that is shipped to us or do we need to send you our old one first?

‘REBUILT TIPM’ is a unit that we send you first already and ready to go.

16

Whats the difference between a used, rebuilt, re-manufactured, and new TIPM?

All new TIPM’s are really re-manufactured, if you are going to a dealership and they sell you a new TIPM, its actually from a re-manufacturer. Used is simply used, its a working TIPM (hopefully) that has been used, and no additional work has been done to it. A rebuilt TIPM is a TIPM that had its faulty relays and fuel chips replaced, tested and certified to be working properly.

17

What is the difference between repair and rebuilt?

A repair service includes sending your own TIPM to be repaired while a Rebuilt TIPM is purchased from us on the site. However, both go through the same repair process.
