Jeep Electrical Problems

Diagnosing electrical problems with your Jeep can be very frustrating. The only thing more frustrating is having to live with the Jeeps’ electrical problems on a daily basis. Maybe your Jeep Grand Cherokee is having power window problems where they work, then do not work. Maybe your Jeep Wrangler taillights are flashing. Sporadic Jeep electrical issues are common and are fixable.

If you suspect your Jeep electrical problems are due to a faulty TIPM, Purchase a New or Refurbished Jeep TIPM here.

Common Jeep Electrical Issues

  • Door Locks are Faulty
  • Power Windows Malfunctioning
  • Headlights Inoperative or Sporadic
  • Taillights are Defective
  • Interior Lighting is Non-Functional
  • Turn Signals are Erratic
  • Fuel Pump is Unreliable
  • Car not Cranking
  • Cooling Fan Turns On and Off
  • Windshield Wipers and Washers Inconsistent
  • Air Conditioning is Inadequate
  • Radio is Intermittent

There is a component that most modern Jeep models share with each other. This component is called a TIPM. A TIPM manages the electrical distribution to many areas of your Jeep that need electricity to operate. Additionally, a TIPM energizes critical electronic modules, including the instrument cluster, the ABS module, and the vehicle’s central computer, known as the ECM, ECU, or PCM. Essentially, the TIPM is the source from which all electrical features of your vehicle draw power. If your Jeep is having electrical issues with any of these components, perhaps you are in need of a New or Rebuilt Jeep TIPM.

Jeep Electrical Issues with these Models

As far back as the early to mid-2000s, if you are having Jeep electrical issues, it may be a TIPM that is the culprit. Maybe your Jeep Wrangler’s windshield wipers, locking mechanisms, or the entire lighting system is not acting as it should. Perhaps your engine is not even cranking. Nearly all Jeep electrical issues can be traced back to the TIPM.

Early to Mid-2000s to Present Jeep models that have a TIPM:

Jeep models from the early to mid-2000s to the present, including the Jeep models above, are equipped with a TIPM. Problems with the TIPM can lead to a range of Jeep electrical malfunctions, which can be frustrating and potentially hazardous. It’s important to diagnose these problems accurately, as they can affect critical systems like the fuel pump, cooling fan, headlights, and safety features like airbags and the ABS system.

If you are a Jeep owner experiencing any electrical problems, it could be a bad TIPM. If you are unsure, Contact Us or learn a bit more about the Symptoms of a Bad TIPM. If you are ready to purchase, head over to our New and Rebuilt TIPMS page.
